Our Journey

A handicraft business gets started for so many different reasons and has many different beginnings. pleased to bring you our story.

What started as a passion for colours and nature became a full time work. After a major setback in life and given circumstances, picked up a day job but knew that I had to rethink my approach. A friend got me a painting assignment for a client and brought me to my love of painting. Then started painting canvas, wood logs as part of an exhibition that was much loved and appreciated. Later added utility products aimed towards an eco friendly living. Since that day, its been an upward and onward journey.

The Woodpecker was launched in 2019, an invitation to experience the depths of nature and the majestic Himalayas- the perpetual backdrop of our studio in Dehradun.

We work with craftsmen in Northern India, curating beautiful handcrafted products, preserving the art handed down generations . We also work closely with government school children training them in handicrafts. A part of our sales go for art workshop and supplies for local children.
